Grief Is An Animal

Beloved In Christ,

It has been so long since I have been able to post on this site.  Illness and death have touched my life for a long, long year.  I learned something about grief when I was young and the mother of a friend died unexpectedly.  I did not realize how much I liked this dear lady and I experienced real grief for the first time in my life.  I found that grief is its own animal and that it can not be tamed but by time and grace.  One must simply walk through the behavior of this thing and get to the other side.  Grief is not like we see it portrayed in the movies;  It is ugly and nasty and undignified and incredibly sad.

Because Our Blessed Lord knew grief Himself and showed us His sadness when his friend Lazarus died, we know that grief is something that can be offered to God in union with the Cross of Christ and it can be conquered and tamed only by the infusion of grace and the passage of time, another gift of God.

May you all be blessed in your own grief and sadness and know that God loves you with an everlasting LOVE and that He will give you everything you need not just to survive but to thrive.  You are all remembered at the altar of the Lord and in the Holy Rosary and in our devotions.  Dominos Vobiscum!
