November 3rd., 2014- Feast of All Souls

On All Saints Day we celebrate all the souls who have made it to Heaven and are now saints before the Triune God, though most are not canonized.  All human souls in Heaven are Saints of God and heirs to His Kingdom.

Today Holy Mother Church celebrates those souls that are in Purgatory, which is a true and beautiful doctrine of the Church of Jesus Christ, that which is called Catholic.  It is the day that the Universal Church offers sacrifice for the Poor Souls in Purgatory and merits for these souls, as they can no longer merit for themselves.

Purgatory is clearly mentioned in Holy Writ and expounded in Holy Tradition, the two pillars of Truth upon which the Church moors the Barque of Peter.  “It is a holy and wholesome though to pray for the dead, that they may be loosed from their sins.”- Maccabees.  “Verily, verily I say unto thee, that thou must pay to the last farthing…”- Our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ.  Again, “For everyman’s works shall be tried as in fire…”

Think of the countless souls that are forgotten in Purgatory and who would greatly benefit from your prayers.  They in turn will pray for you and help you at the hour of death.  Just because the Newchurch does not believe in or denigrates the dogma of Purgatory does not mean that it does not exist!  The truth is always the truth and no pronouncements from sinful man, currying the favor of the world can change it.

It is a wonderful thought that those who make it to Purgatory will be saints in Heaven.  That is assured. Let us pray the great prayer given by the Mother of God for us here on earth- the Church Militant, and for the Church Suffering in Purgatory:

“O My Jesus, forgive us our sins and save us all from the fires of hell.  Lead all souls to Heaven, especially those poor souls, (in Purgatory) that are most in need of Thy mercy.”  This prayer was directed by Our Lady to be said after every decade in the Holy Rosary.

“Have pity on me, at least you, my friends.”th-1

Great Saint Francis of Assisi

Great Saint Francis of Assisi was not wanted by his earthly father, Pietro Bernardone.  He was angry at his wife for having his son baptized with the name Giovanni after St. John the Baptist.  He didn’t want a son who was a man of God, he wanted a merchant like himself.  He also wanted a son to reflect his own love of France, so he had him renamed Francesco.

Francis enjoyed an easy and rich life, with his time and talents being squandered in revelry, parties and casual relationships.  He was gregarious and had an appealing personality that was loved by everyone.  Thomas of Celano, his biographer, said of him: “In other respects he was an exquisite youth and attracted to himself a whole retinue of young people addicted to evil and accustomed to vice.”  St. Francis himself said, “I lived in sin” during that time.

Francis lived his life for himself, but something happened to him when he was a soldier and was captured and held prisoner for ransom.  He was in a dungeon, dark and subjected to despair.  He continued a life of sin until he answered the call to go to the crusades as a knight from Assisi.  He only made it one day out from his town.  That night God visited him in a dream and like a lightening streak across a barren sky announces the coming storm, Francis experienced a storm of grace and he was never the same.  He prayed and prayed.  One day soon after he was riding in the countryside and saw a leper.  Instead of riding away in horror, Francis leapt from his horse and kissed the leper on the hand.  Riding away he turned to wave at the leper and found he has disappeared.  This was a test that Francis passed.  Soon after the events so well known in his life his break from his earthly father was permanent and his acceptance by His Heavenly Father was complete.  He founded the order that bears his name, with his dear and great friend Saint Clare.

I urge you to read about the magnificent life of dear Saint Francis.  Read his writings.  Pray to him.  It is important to remember that he went to the Holy Land in order to give his life for Christ.  He preached Jesus Crucified and Resurrected to the Muslim.  In fact, so impressed was the sultan, that he gave to the Franciscan order the province of the Christian shrines in Palestine.  The sultan said, “I would convert to your religion which is a beautiful one, but both of us would be murdered.”  He wanted to save his earthly life, when he could have had the crown of martyrdom.  Pray for the Muslim and Islamists that today persecute Holy Mother Church and Catholics everywhere!  Many theologians in Church history believe that the humble Saint Francis was given the vacant throne of Lucifer in Heaven.  How wonderful is God in His Angels and in His Saints.

Great Saint Francis, pray for us!

Feast of Saint Therese of Lisieux, Oct. 3rd.,2014- And the Rose Novena

Today the True Church celebrates the great saint that is Therese, the Little Flower- ‘Of the Child Jesus and Of the Holy Face.’  What a marvelous work Almighty God wrought in her willing and pure soul.  Her autobiography, (written under Holy Obedience) is called “The Story Of A Soul” and is highly recommended to every Christian.

Saint Therese was declared, along with Saint Joan of Arc, the co-patron of France, once the ‘Eldest Daughter of the Church.’  Now poor France is poised (with all of Western Europe,) on the brink of destruction- and it will come quickly, when the powers and ‘sheeple’ are not prepared!  Let the remnant of God cling to the clear teaching of the Holy Ghost through saints like Therese and draw comfort from the knowledge that God is in charge.  We must be ready at any moment to be called Home!  Saint Therese is also the co-patron of missions, along with St. Francis Xavier.  All the world is now a mission territory, not the least being the Vatican itself, having been taken over by heretics, apostates and the Freemasons.  (This fact is easily proven from news sources and the pronouncements of those in power.)

Pray for them and for yourselves and your children; for did not Our Lord prophesy this day when He said on the Way to Calvary, “If in the case of green wood they do these things- what shall happen in the case of the dry?!”  Meaning, the atrocities against His Body the Church will mirror and surpass those against His physical Body.  In both it is Christ, the Eternal Suffering and Crucified One Who pays the price for our salvation.  Once and for all in His Body on Calvary and then “For that which is lacking in the Cross of Christ for His Body the Church.”- Colossians 1-24.

Saint Therese said:  “I will spend my Heaven doing good upon earth!  I will let fall from Heaven a shower of roses!”  Here is her wonderful novena.  If God will grant your request, you will receive roses or the scent or image of roses on or near the last day of the novena.  Do not tell anyone that you are praying it.

O Saint Therese of the Child Jesus and of the Holy Face, who during your short life on earth became a mirror of angelic purity, of love stronger than death and of wholehearted abandonment to God; Now that you rejoice in the reward of your virtues, cast a glance of pity on me as I leave all things in your hands.

Make my troubles your own and speak a word for me to Our Lady Immaculate, whose flower of special love you were to that marvelous Queen of Heaven, ‘who smiled on you at the dawn of life.’  Beg her powerful intercession for the grace I yearn for so ardently at this moment…

(State your request here.)

and that she join with it a blessing that may strengthen me during life, defend me at the hour of death and lead me straight on to a happy eternity with God forever.

SAINT THERESE, LITTLE FLOWER, PLEASE PICK FOR ME A ROSE FROM THE HEAVENLY GARDENS AND SENT IT TO ME WITH A MESSAGE OF LOVE.  LITTLE FLOWER OF JESUS, ASK GOD TODAY TO GRANT THE FAVOR I NOW PLACE WITH CONFIDENCE IN YOUR HANDS.  O GREAT SAINT THERESE, HELP ME TO BELIEVE AS YOU ALWAYS DID, IN GOD’S GREAT LOVE FOR ME.  SAINT THERESE OF THE CHILD JESUS AND OF THE HOLY FACE, PRAY WITH ME AND FOR ME.

O MOST SACRED HEART OF JESUS, have mercy on us!  (Three times.)

O SORROWFUL AND IMMACULATE HEART OF MARY, PRAY FOR US WHO HAVE RECOURSE TO THEE!

AMEN AND AMEN.

Feast of Our Holy Guardian Angels, 2014

Angels are real.  They are immortal beings and each person that has ever been or ever will be has a Guardian Angel.  This belief is Catholic doctrine and Our Blessed Lord Jesus Himself tells us in scripture:  “See that you do not despise one of these little ones, for I say to you that their angels in heaven always look upon the face of My heavenly Father.”  Their role is to represent souls before Almighty God, to watch over them always, to aid their prayer and to present their souls to God at death.

The knowledge that we each have an Angel Guardian is a great comfort.  This aspect of Catholic piety teaches us that God protects us and those we love from dangers real or imagined.  Especially when we carry our crosses our Guardian Angels help us to receive the gifts of grace that God wants to bestow on us.  Devotion to these magnificent creatures (and indeed devotion to Our Blessed Mother Mary and the entire Communion of Saints) is the Will of God.  Saint Benedict and Saint Bernard of Clairvaux were great champions of the doctrine and we owe much to their inspired teaching.  The first feast in honor of our Guardian Angels was given to Holy Mother Church in 1615  by Pope Paul V.

O Guardian Angel, my helper from above-  O Guardian Angel, protect me with thy love!

O Angel Holy with wings so shiny bright; keep me, guide me always, to think and do what’s right.

O Guardian Angel, from heaven thou didst come.  O Guardian Angel, to God’s Love I’ll succumb!

O Wondrous Spirit, defend me all my days.  Lead me to Our Precious Lord, our Life, our Hope, our Way!

Please listen Angel and hearken to my prayer- when my life is ended, my soul is in thy care!  Then fly me to heaven, to meet Our Dearest Lord.  Then my friend we’ll sing again, His praise for evermore!- From a children’s hymn to Guardian Angels, composed in 1972.

One last suggestion… My dear sister has named her Guardian Angel.  This is a good practice and I recommend it.  Remember that we were made just a little below the angels and that God wants us to spend eternity with Him and all the angels and saints in heaven.  “Never turn away a stranger, for many have entertained angels unawares.”

September 15th., Feast of the Seven Sorrows of The BVM

Dearly Beloved,

Today we celebrate in gratitude and great sorrow with the Blessed Virgin Mary, Our Most Blessed Mother, her Seven Sorrows.  We ask her to especially help with the Holy Angels and all the Saints in Heaven and Souls in Purgatory those who are suffering for the Faith in Iraq and the Middle East.  All those Christians that are being martyred while the free world does NOTHING, while the man who occupies the Chair of Peter does NOTHING for the Suffering Church.

Offer your sufferings in your daily Morning Offering, along with all your joys to the Sacred Hearts of Jesus and Mary, in union with the Holy Sacrifice of the Mass being offered this day and every day until the end of time.  Talk about the tortured!  Do not let anyone forget their sufferings.

We compassionate thee, O Sorrowful and Immaculate Heart of Mary, in thy Seven Sorrows-

The Prophesy of Simeon about thy Immaculate Heart, thy Flight Into Egypt with great Saint Joseph, thy Loss with Saint Joseph of the Child Jesus in the Temple, thy meeting with Jesus on the Way of the Cross, The Crucifixion of thy Son, the Taking Down of His Body from the Cross and His Burial in the Tomb.

By these sorrows, united to the Heart of Christ, may we love God more and more and live with Him and thee in Heaven for all eternity.  Amen.th

OUTRAGE!

Dearly Beloved,

Terrible things are happening in the Middle East and around the world to Christians.  The situation is so severe that it is difficult to express the proper outrage.  The plight of Catholics in Iraq is horrendous.  We are led to believe by the media and our leaders that the ouster and death of Sadam Hussein was good for that country and region, but this is not true!  Yes, he was a terrible man and did terrible things, but there was religious freedom and protection of all faiths in Iraq under his regime.  The United States has made a bad situation much, much worse by their lack of attention to detail in the setting up of the new powers in Iraq and Afghanistan.

Priests, nuns and believers in the Lord Jesus Christ are being tortured and martyred daily.  Babies are being slaughtered and eaten by these infidels, (and that is the only appropriate word for these forces of eveil.)  In Mozul, ALL Catholics and other Christians have been either murdered or made refugees.  The Vatican, finally(!) has started condemning this persecution, but actual help in the form of money needed for the refugees is late or non-existent.  There needs to be a clearing house where souls of goodwill- Americans in particular, can donate to help their brothers and sisters.

I urge all of you to go to your priests and pastors and beg them to preach on the persecution of Christians in the world today!  We must face these terrible acts and counter with actual help, in the form not only of fervent prayer to the Almighty and Ever Living and Loving Lord Jesus Christ, but also with monetary assistance and physical help.

We have become a nation that is compartmentalized; we don’t care as a group about what is really important.  We are more interested in our games and hypnotic entertainments than in the suffering around us.

Because we have an all volunteer Armed Forces it is easy for us to forget that our warriors- those which buy our freedom for us with their blood, are doing things that they shouldn’t because of lack of numbers.  To send a soldier on more than two tours of duty is folly!  This was never allowed before in our history.  They forget themselves and commit atrocities in our names.  Because there is no draft, we as a nation can look the other way and we have no universal interest in the wars which we are waging.  We must bring back the draft and we must stop our young women from serving in combat.  Even the Israelis no longer have women in combat roles, for the atrocities committed against them by enemies when they were captured were unacceptable to them.  Good for the Israelis!  Also, they found that the men serving with them would stop to save them, thereby compromising the missions.  It is against nature to have women in combat!  The incidents of rape and pregnancies in uniform are through the roof!  This is a social experiment that has gone terribly wrong and we as a nation and the good women trying to serve their country are the ones that suffer because of this insanity!  Women should, of course be allowed to serve, but not in combat and not integrated with men on ships or on land.  THIS PRACTICE IS INSANE!, and we must all educate ourselves and stand up and speak the truth!

Again, please ask your spiritual leaders what they are doing for the Persecuted Church and insist they preach on their plight.  We have a new apostolate, (ministry) for the Persecuted Church and all who suffer the terrible burden of torture.  It is: CATHOLICSAGAINSTTORTURE.ORG  Please go to this site and write in and ask for a free prayer card.  Please pray for the tortured!

O God of justice, Love and mercy, look with pity upon our suffering brothers and sisters who are being persecuted for Thy Names’ sake.  Give them miracles of escape and help and open our hearts to the truth of life around us.  Help us to fulfill our calling as Christians and stand up for those who have no one to stand for them.  In the Holy Name of Jesus Christ we pray with Our Blessed Mother Mary and all the Angels and Saints in heaven.  Amen.

Saintly Wisdom

“Just as in one man there is one soul and one body, yet many members; even so the Catholic Church is one body, having many members.  The Soul that quickens this Body is the Holy Spirit; and therefore in the Creed after confessing our belief in the Holy Spirit, we are bid to believe in the Holy Catholic Church.”-St. Thomas Aquinas

“Never give up prayer, and should you find dryness and difficulty, persevere in it for this very reason.  God often desires to see what love your soul has- and love is not tried by ease and satisfaction.”-St. John of the Cross

“We can’t have full knowledge all at once.  We must start by believing; then afterwards we may be led on to master the evidence for ourselves.”-St. Thomas Aquinas

“Without love, deeds, even the most brilliant, count as nothing.”-St. Therese of Lisieux- Of the Child Jesus and the Holy Face

“Three things are necessary for the salvation of man: to know what he ought to believe; to know what he ought to desire; and to know what he ought to do.”-St. Thomas Aquinas

“Why was I born and what is my purpose?  I was born to know, love and serve God in this life and to be forever happy with Him in the next.”-The Baltimore Catechism, (no longer taught in Vatican II schools.)

“The works of God are not accomplished when we wish them, but whenever it pleases Him.”-St. Vincent de Paul

The Most Amazing Thing: The Miracle of Hiroshima

August 2014 brings the 69th. anniversary of the terrible dropping of the atom bomb on Hiroshima and Nagasaki, which brought about the immediate end of World War II, as Germany had already been vanquished.

The bomb exploded just eight blocks from the Church of the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary, a Jesuit mission.  Fr. Hubert Schiffer, one of the few survivors said: “Suddenly, a terrific explosion filled the air with one bursting thunder stroke.  An invisible force lifted me from the chair, hurled me through the air, shook me, battered me, whirled me ’round and ’round like a leaf in a gust of autumn wind.”

He and three other priests lived in the rectory within the radius of complete atomic destruction.  After the shock of the blast they looked around and saw absolutely nothing; for miles in every direction, thousands of people were dead and every building was destroyed- except for the four priests and their rectory!  Although wounded, they survived and afterwards suffered NO RADIATION SICKNESS.

“It took only a second: a flash- fearfully frightening- and Hiroshima, home of half a million people, was wiped off the earth.  What was left was only darkness, blood, burns, moans, fire and spreading terror.”

Asked why they believe they were spared, when so many others died either from the bomb blast or from the subsequent radiation, Fr. Schiffer spoke for himself and his companions: “We believe that we survived because we were living the message of Fatima.  We lived and prayed the rosary daily in that home.”

This last quote from Fr. Schiffer says it all:  “What we need today is a Crusade of Prayer; the spirit of prayer everywhere; a renewal of our deepest trust and confidence in God’s providence.  Our Blessed Mother promised that when we heeded her plea for prayer and Christian action, the world will have peace.  We may feel that our humble efforts cannot have such a tremendous effect upon the world, but let us think for a moment about the power of a river- sweeping everything before it.  That river is made up of tiny drops of water and because numberless tiny drops of rain have fallen into it, the river has become a force that carries heavy ships and changes deserts into fruitful farms and gardens.  So, too will the Perpetual Rosary Crusade, the recitation of the rosary for peace by countless persons all over the world become an immense and irresistible spiritual force for peace.  In this universe there is nothing else that forms a common ground for the people of the world except the love of God, charity and the spirit of prayer.  Our Blessed Mother’s rosary is a bond which unites the heart strings of the world.”

I believe that the world wants peace; I truly do- but the world wants peace without the Prince of Peace.  People want a Christless peace, therefore PEACE WILL BE DENIED IT.  Let us join in the Perpetual Rosary Crusade and thereby ally ourselves with Christ and His plan for the universe.  We will bring grace into the world and into our own worlds.  We will bring grace into our hearts, thus fulfilling the requests of the Queen of Heaven… and WE WILL HAVE PEACE, the peace that surpasses all understanding- and the understanding that brings peace.

More Wisdom From The Saints

“Each woman who lives in the light of eternity can fulfill her vocation, no matter if it is in marriage, in a religious order or in a worldly profession.”-Sr. Teresa Benedicta of the Cross, (Edith Stein.)

“One can offer himself as a victim for 8-15 days for the conversion of sinners.  One can suffer cold, heat, deprive oneself of looking at something, go visit someone who would appreciate it, make a novena, attend daily Mass for this intention in places where it is possible.  Not only would one contribute to God’s glory by this holy practice of praying for sinners, but one would obtain an abundance of grace.”-St. John Vianney, the Cure of Ars.

“The more we are afflicted in this world, the greater is our assurance in the next; the more sorrow in the present, the greater will be our joy in the future.”-St. Isadore of Seville

“Whenever anything disagreeable or displeasing happens to you, remember Christ crucified and be silent.”-St. John of the Cross

“It would be considered a theft on our part if we didn’t give to someone in greater need than we are.”-St. Francis of Assisi

“The only true riches are those that make us rich in virtue.  Therefore, if you want to be rich, beloved, love true riches.  If you aspire to the heights of real honor, strive to reach the kingdom of Heaven.  If you value rank and renown, hasten to be enrolled in the heavenly court of the Angels.”-Pope St. Gregory the Great

“Beside each believer stands an Angel as protector and shepherd, leading him to life.”-St. Basil the Great

“When tempted, invoke your Angel.  He is more eager to help you than you are to be helped!  Ignore the devil and do not be afraid of him: he trembles and flees at the sight of your Guardian Angel.”-St. John Bosco

“I bind myself today to the power in the love of the Seraphim, in the obedience of the Angels, in the ministration of the Archangels, in the hope of Resurrection unto reward, in the prayers of the Patriarchs, in the predictions of the Prophets, in the preaching of the Apostles, in the faith of the Confessors, in the purity of the holy Virgins, in the deeds of Righteous men.”-St. Patrick of Ireland

“If I had to advise parents, I should tell them to take great care about the people with whom their children associate…Much harm may result from bad company, and we are inclined by nature to follow what is worse than what is better.”-Venerable Elizabeth Ann Seton, founder of the Catholic parochial school system in America, whose convents are closed and whose order is all but gutted following “Vatican II.”

“Never read books you aren’t sure about…even supposing that these bad books are very well written from a literary point of view.  Let me ask you this:  Would you drink something you knew was poisoned, just because it was offered to you in a golden cup?”-St. John Bosco

The Solemnity of the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary

The great feast of the Assumption of the Blessed Mother, like other Marian feasts, highlights God’s wondrous and marvelous deeds in her life and her cooperation in the work of the redemption of man.  By honoring and loving Our Blessed Mother Mary we give honor and glory to God, through Jesus Christ the King of Love.  Our Lord, by granting her more grace than any other creature and elevating her to the status of Queen of Heaven, Queen of Angels, Queen of the Universe and Queen of Peace, enabled her to give her fiat- her YES to the Will of Almighty God in the order of salvation.  We honor with great devotion the Maid of Nazareth who became Our Mother by the express order of Christ from the Cross of Calvary, while we adore and worship the Word made Flesh, Jesus Christ.

So many terrible things are happening in the world today, especially to the House of God.  Teenage martyrs have shed their blood for Christ and His Church, with nary an actual hand of help from the power that resides in the Vatican, but Christ is the Just Judge and his children, less than a month ago living on earth are now reigning with Him in the Kingdom of Heaven.  They are now part of the Church Triumphant.  It is important for those of us who live in free lands sing their praises and help those we can.  What a burden is ours!

O Mary, conceived without sin and assumed into heaven, pray for us sinners!
