We have been praying for the release from North Korea of Matthew Miller of Bakersfield, California and missionary Kenneth Bae of Lynwood, Washington, who were wrongly convicted and sentenced to prison in that country.  It is interesting to note that Mr. Bae was convicted of having a Holy Bible in his possession.  Today we learn of their unexpected release by… (more…)

One day a steer went astray from the herd and did not return with the rest of the… (more…)

The Feast of Saint Joseph, Spouse of the Mother of God

Today we celebrate a real man, great Saint Joseph.  Scripture says of him, “He was a just man.”  He was kind, loving , gentle and incredibly strong.  Attuned to the Heart of God, He protected his family by fleeing to Egypt.  We know that Saint Joseph was probably a widower when he was espoused to the Blessed Mother.  It was… (more…)

Advent is the preparatory season for Christmas. The color purple is the same as that of Lent and reminds us of the royalty of Christ The King, whose coming we celebrate in glad anticipation. We celebrate not only His holy birth of the Blessed Virgin Mary, protected by great Saint Joseph, but also we are preparing for His return on… (more…)

MARY CHRIST MASS, 2010

Golda Meier once said,”Don’t be so humble- you’re not that great!” I love this saying because it is so true. In Heaven there are all sorts of saints. There are saints who were bold on earth and saints who were timid. Saints who were eloquent and saints who were tongue tied stammerers; Saints who were rich and saints who were… (more…)
