The Memorare on Our Lady’s Saturday, December 1st., 2012

This beautiful and efficacious prayer was composed by St. Bernard. It is my favorite Marian prayer. Say it often and the mystery of the meaning of Christ and His most holy Mother will be inculcated in your soul.

REMEMBER, O Most Gracious Virgin Mary,
that never was it known that anyone who fled to thy protection,
implored thy help or sought thine intercession was left unaided!
Inspired by this confidence, we fly unto thee, O Virgin of Virgins, our Mother!
To thee do we come; before thee we kneel, sinful and sorrowful.
O Thou Mother of the Word Incarnate, despise not our petitions,
but in thy clemency, hear and answer our prayer! Amen.

This is the final day of the church year, as tomorrow we begin again with Advent. Let us always remember that in this life we are in the waiting room of eternity. We should be ready at any moment to be called Home and should live our earthly years as our personal advent, for we do not know at what moment or in what circumstance we shall be called before the Judgement Seat of Christ. May we meet, by our lives, the gentle Baby Jesus, at rest in His Mother’s arms, holding out His hands to us for the eternal and beatific embrace of transcendent LOVE.
