LENT 2014

My Dear Brothers and Sisters in Christ,

It has been difficult for me to post anything for a while as I am dealing with permanent disability.  I thank all of you who are always so kind for your understanding.  Sometimes it is difficult to even get out of bed, but God provides and in the midst of suffering He gives His tender mercies.  If we unite our sufferings with those of Christ upon the Cross of Calvary, in every true Sacrifice of the Mass being celebrated throughout the world this day and every day until the end of time, all our sufferings become meritorious.  We must remember not to waste them.  By entering ourselves and emptying ourselves in the Sacred Heart of Jesus we are allowed glimpses of the eternal meaning of the Cross, of the glories of resurrection and restoration He intends for those who love Him.

This lent, this “losing every negative thought,” let us suffer in our small way for those who are in horrific circumstances in other parts of the earth- Ukraine, Syria, Afghanistan and all the nations who are in the hold of terror and its servants.  We who live in the USA and the free nations of the world, those of the west that are on the brink of falling, we must be grateful for every day of liberty we enjoy.  We must also prepare for those days that are coming- those days of final tribulation that are being lived already by our brothers and sisters in the persecuted nations.  Take up your cross and follow Him.  Grace will be given when it is asked for.  May your lenten journey give you strength for the road ahead.  Without the cross there is no crown.  Without the Crown of Thorns there is no halo of light.  If there is no Good Friday in your life, there will never be an Easter Sunday.

Almighty and Ever Living God, send us Your Holy Spirit that we may journey in this lenten season in the Sorrowful and Immaculate Heart of Mary to the Most Sacred Heart of Jesus, Your only Son and Our Lord and Saviour.  Keep us in continual remembrance of those who suffer for Your Name’s sake and for Your Holy Church. For all those who endure tribulation for love of You.  Be merciful to us and thank you for calling us to serve You in joy and gratitude.  Amen.
