An Observation On The Gospel According To Saint Luke

Have you ever wondered why the gospel of Luke was accepted so readily, when he wasn’t an apostle? The reason is he was a friend of the Blessed Mother. This is what many theologians and authorities on scripture believe and I believe it, as well.

It is called the Marian gospel because there is so much detail on the nativity narrative and it is obvious that St. Luke interviewed the Blessed Virgin Mary, from whom he learned of these mysteries first hand. It is a logical conclusion and when one considers the many gospels floating around at the time the authority of the Mother of God revealing her story to St. Luke makes sense. When you read the gospels you will have a new appreciation for the different angles on the same truths.

We have the tradition also of the icon painted by St. Luke and still visible in Santa Maria Meggiore in Rome, a melding of the eastern and western schools of art.

Behold, all generations shall call me blessed; For He Who is mighty has done great things for me and holy is His Name.

Peace

Be in peace or be in pieces! There are times in our lives when we are abandoned by those we most need; Our families, dear friends, even society. This is all part of what makes life life and we must come to terms with circumstance. We can try to change things and sometimes this works, but in the end we can only choose how we will respond to the cross. This is so very difficult at times, when one feels cast out even by the outcasts.

Sometimes when friends or family, (or our chosen family of friends) die or leave in anger, one can think that love was just a waste of time. Then God sends someone else or increases His presence through a signal grace and forgiveness and resignation to the Divine Will come welling up from the soul in a spasm of joy and we know the peace that comes with being Catholic.

I believe that God gives not only the peace that passes understanding, but He gives the understanding that brings peace. This is true in my life as I go through another cycle of loss and regeneration. May God give you all the grace you need for whatever is happening in your life. May He especially show His love to you through the Blessed Mother, she who gave the most important “YES” in history. Let us today say yes with her to God.

The Feast of the Most Holy Rosary of the Blessed Virgin Mary

This great feast day is in celebration of the magnificent power of the Most Holy Rosary, given to man by God through the intercession of the Blessed Virgin Mary to St. Dominic and revived by Blessed Alan de la Roche. We must remember that the rosary is a special gift from the Heart of God. It enables men to come to salvation through meditation on its sacred mysteries, the events of our illumination in the Life of Christ, Our Lady and Holy Mother Church. It is the most powerful prayer outside the Holy Sacrifice of the Mass. There are fifteen mysteries of the Holy Rosary; the Joyful, Sorrowful and Glorious. (The so-called “luminous” mysteries are to be rejected as the unlawful addition of the anti-pope John Paul the Great Heretic. Even a true pope has not the right to add or to detract to that which was once given by Heaven. At the most, it would be a new chaplet, but not an addition to the Holy Rosary. Be settled on this point.)

The Feast of the Holy Rosary was established by Saint Pius V, (who codified and canonized the Holy Mass, never to be changed until Christ returns on the clouds of glory) on the anniversary of the naval victory won by the Catholic fleet at the Battle of Lepanto, October 7th., 1571 against the muslim hordes. The victory was attributed to the help of the holy Mother of God whose aid was invoked through the praying of the rosary. It is my opinion, God will once again use the scourge of Islamism to chastise His people because of their sins. This view was voiced also by the late Archbishop Fulton J. Sheen, whom I knew and who sent me the last letter he wrote on earth. God rest his immortal soul+

Pour forth we beseech Thee, O Lord Thy grace into our hearts, that we to whom the Incarnation of Christ Thy Son was made known by the message of an angel; May by His Passion and Cross be brought to the glory of His Resurrection, through the same Christ, Our Lord. Amen.

Praised be You, my Lord, through those who grant pardon for love of You and bear sickness and trial.

Blessed are those who endure in peace, by You Most High, they will be crowned!

Praised be You, my Lord, through Sister Death, from whom no one living can escape! Woe to those who die in mortal sin! Blessed are they she finds doing Your will- the second death can do them no harm!

Praise and bless my Lord and give Him thanks and serve Him with great humility!

There are many theologians who believe that St. Francis, because of his great humility and correspondence to grace, has been given the throne in heaven left vacant by Lucifer. Whether this be true or not, he is the greatest of saints and most worthy of veneration. Read well the last part of his great canticle of praise where he mentions mortal sin! In the midst of all this great and inspired praise he gives a warning to us all. Let us heed him and be prepared at all times to meet Sister Death, so that we may live with Christ, the Blessed Mother, St. Joseph, St. Francis and all the saints and angels in heaven in glory and never ending joy!

Novena Prayer To St. Therese of the Child Jesus and the Holy Face

O Glorious St. therese, whom Almighty God has raised up to aid and counsel mankind, I implore your miraculous intercession. So powerful are you in obtaining every need of body and soul our Holy Mother Church proclaims you the “Prodigy of Miracles, the greatest saint of modern times.” Now I fervently beseech you to answer my petition, (make petition known now,) and to carry out your promises of spending heaven doing good upon earth… of letting fall from heaven a shower of roses! Henceforth dear Little Flower, I will fulfill your plea to “be made known everywhere,” and I will never cease to lead others to Jesus through you.

St. Therese Little Flower, please pick a rose from the heavenly gardens and send it to me with a message of love; Ask God today to grant the favors I implore of you and tell Him I will love Him each day more and more. Help me to believe as you did, in God’s great love for me, so that I might imitate your Little Way each day. Amen.

On Our Guardian Angels

O Guardian Angel, my helper from above;
O Guardian Angel, protect me with thy love
O Angel Holy, with wings so shiny bright;
Keep me, guide me always, to think and do what’s right.

O Guardian Angel, from heaven thou didst come
O Guardian Angel, to God’s love I’ll succumb.
O Wondrous Spirit, defend me all my days-
Lead me to our precious Lord, our Life, our Hope, our Way!

Please listen Angel and hearken to my prayer
When my life is ended, my soul is in thy care
Then fly me to heaven, to meet our dearest Lord;
Then my friend we’ll sing again
His praise forever more!

God has not left us orphans. Our loving Father has given each of us a Holy Guardian Angel to be our companion throughout all our lives. To urge us to do the right thing always and in every circumstance. To protect us as far as the plan of God allows and to help us correspond to the graces necessary for our salvation.

I have learned much through the years from many teachers in regards to Angel studies. Among these was my own sister who has named her Guardian Angel and who prays to him daily. It is a good practice to name our Guardian Angels, as long as we understand it is only in order that we may have a better union with God by doing so. All of us have a special name known only to God, and so it is with the Holy Angels, from all the choirs of such in heaven. What that true name is, is not for us to know at this time. However, I have found that naming my Angel helps me to think of him/her in a more intimate way and helps in my spiritual life.

Thank the dear Lord always for the great grace of your Guardian Angel and never do anything that would make him/her hide their face from the Beatific Vision. We know that children, being innocent, have Angels that “Behold the Face of God in heaven!” This reveals to us that our sins shame our Angels and that they can not look directly at the Beatific Vision while we are on earth, if we are in the state of mortal sin, for they are united to our souls. This is most worthy of contemplation.

Angel of God, my guardian dear;
To whom God’s love commits me here-
Ever this day be at my side;
To light, to guard, to rule and guide! Amen.

The Wonderful Month of October- The Holy Rosary

October is my favorite month. It has so many wonderful feast days; St. Francis of Assisi, St. Therese of the Child Jesus and of the Holy Face, (St. Therese of the Roses of Lisieux,) the Holy Guardian Angels, The Maternity of the BVM, St. Luke, etc, etc, etc… and of course, the feast of the Most Holy Rosary.

This is the month where Holy Mother Church reminds us of the divine origin of the rosary and how important a prayer it is. It is wholly biblical and outside of the Holy Sacrifice of the Mass, it is the most powerful prayer we have, because it is the prayer of the Mother of God! A mother’s prayers are more powerful than any on earth and this prayer, coming from God Almighty, reminds us of this fact. Our Lady reminds us of and represents the Divine Feminine, which is contained in God, Who is neither feminine or masculine, but out of Whom both come in the mystery of creation.

Blessed be the Most Holy Rosary of the Blessed Virgin Mary, Mother and Queen of All Hearts! You will all be remembered in a special way during this month. Please pray for me.

Our Lady’s Heart is called Immaculate because of a pure gift of God’s grace, but she earned the title Sorrowful because of her voluntary acceptance of and entering into the suffering of her Divine Son.

Sorrowful and Immaculate Heart of Mary, pray for us who have recourse to thee!

Prediction of Our Lady of La Salette

“ROME WILL LOSE THE FAITH AND BECOME THE SEAT OF THE ANTICHRIST. THE CHURCH WILL BE IN ECLIPSE.”

All conservative Catholics should be astounded by Francis I’s remarks of late- especially on abortion. It would seem to me to be a slap in the face of those on the front lines in the pro-life movement. Liberals, on the other hand, are readily accepting his pronouncements with great joy. It is all very interesting. More will be revealed.
